our christmas traditions!

12/14/2023

Each year we are reminded how fortunate we are to be a small business in such a supportive place like Neenah.  We are especially grateful to organizations like Future Neenah that not only promote local business, but bring people together in the process.

Although there are many events sponsored by Future Neenah  including live bands, the Farmers Market,  and the Ultimate Ladies Day to name a few, our hands down favorite is the Very Neenah Christmas and the live mannequin display.

We have so much fun planning for and participating in this event.  It's a true family ( although after wearing a hot plastic Grinch mask for 2 hours, my son told me he has officially retired!) and office event and we love it!

We wish you and yours most Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays.

christmas food tradition from the staff at bon voyage

I polled the staff at Bon Voyage to see what some of the various Christmas food traditions are for their families  What I found were some interesting, sweet and just plain funny stories!

Kate - most of you know Kate as our “fixer” in addition to final payment point person.  Kate's mother would serve…..hot dogs every Christmas Eve!  It was quite practical given the number of people she was serving, but somewhat non-traditional!  Kate has not carried on this tradition!

Kara -  Kara is our groups person.  Every year Kara's grandmother (my mom) prepared a big pan of lasagna for Christmas Eve.  We still do it and  anytime anyone suggests anything different,  there is threatened mutiny amongst family members.

Meghan - Meghan handles all of our documents as well as our website.  Meghan looks forward to an egg bake on Christmas morning that started with a recipe from the Gillett band cookbook.  Meghan's grandmother found the recipe and it's been eaten ever since.

Brittany -   When not planning travel, Brittany looks forward to her great grandmothers sour cream cookies each year at Christmas.  They are one of her favorite parts of Christmas.

Sara - Sara's family prepares a large spread of appetizers for Christmas Eve while opening gifts.  The perennial favorite is raw beef sandwiches consisting of ground round on marble rye bread with onions and Salt and Pepper.

Jana - Jana has lobster every Christmas Eve and the following morning enjoys leftover lobster and soft egg bake.  She was kind enough to include the recipe which is seen below.

Cindy - my earliest memories of Christmas are of my mother preparing dough for coffee cake and shaping it into a Christmas tree to serve on Christmas morning.  My sister-in-law has continued the tradition and we continue to enjoy it!

Geoff - while Geoff grew up with outdoor barbeque on Christmas, however a non-food related tradition for him is the blaring of Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsmen.  The entire family has memories of this on Christmas morning!!
