I love to travel. There is just something special about the anticipation of visiting somewhere new, learning about different cultures, and the fulfillment that comes after a successful trip. To prepare, I'll watch YouTube videos, read on-line reviews of the places we're traveling to and look for tips and tricks to make travel easier. What joy! Until…….it's time to start packing. I alternate between procrastinating until the last possible minute to laying out potential outfits weeks in advance. I've tried different methods - from using the packing cubes, to just rolling my clothes as well as trying compression bags. I will confess to the compression bags being the bane of my packing experiences. Think of them as giant Ziplock bags. Geoff came home with these for our recent 30 day trip in January Yes, by compressing my clothes into these bags I was able to pack more in a smaller suitcase. However…. The result? A smaller suitcase that was an absolute brick! The smaller suitcase was deceivingly heavy and I felt like I needed to apologize to anyone picking the bag up. And compressing the bags? Picture Geoff and I literally laying on top of each compression bag trying to get all of the air out to properly seal it. To say it required physical effort is an understatement. I was literally sweating at the end of each compression exercise. Personally, I'm a fan of rolling within the packing cubes. I'm open to hearing about your tried and true methods! Maybe I'll find the solution! - Cindy - |
