Join Bon Voyage Boutique Travel and Chef Jeff as we eat our way through France! This amazing trip takes you to Paris, Lyon, and Aix-en-Provence. On this culinary adventure you will enjoy hands on cooking classes, wine tastings, and enjoy incredible tours of the cities and countryside. You will bake pastries in Paris, enjoy a visit to the local market in Lyon, and see the lavender fields of Provence!

June 16 – 26, 2022 | FOOD & WINE OF SOUTHERN FRANCE
 

DAY 1 : JUNE 16 : DEPART UNITED STATES
 
DAY 2 : JUNE 17 : ARRIVAL PARIS 
Arrival at the airport of Paris. 
Pick-up by your driver and depart for a panoramic city tour of Paris to discover of all the main sights and attractions on the left and right banks of Paris: Opéra Garnier, Place Vendôme, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Bastille, the Louvre Museum, Madeleine Church, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower & Invalides. Stops can be organized along the way according to the client's desires. 
Settle in a 4-star LITTRE Hotel  
Welcome dinner in a restaurant walking distance from your hotel. 
Overnight at your hotel.  
 
DAY 3 : JUNE 18 : WALKING TOUR & PASTRY CLASS 
Breakfast at your hotel. 
This morning enjoy a guided tour in the Montmartre neighborhood, famous for its bohemian way of life which still exists today. Visit the small streets off the beaten track in this mythical part of Paris with a 3 hour guided tour. This afternoon you will enjoy a cooking class course focused just on desserts! Try your skills at the creation of the famous Macaron, éclairs or Chouquettes (please select between “Macaron” and “éclairs and chouquettes”). 
Dinner at leisure & Overnight at your hotel. 
 
DAY 4 : JUNE 19 : ARRIVAL IN LYON 
Breakfast at your hotel. Pick up by a private coach at your hotel and transfer to the train station. 
Departure to Lyon by TGV train (train TBD).  
Arrive in Lyon, welcomed by your driver & your guide. You will enjoy a 2 hour panoramic city tour and discover the emblematic places of Lyon.  
Settle in your 4-star hotel Charlemagne. 
Afternoon at leisure 
Welcome Dinner & Overnight at your hotel. 
 
 
DAY 5 : JUNE 20 : BEAUJOLAIS  
Breakfast at your hotel. 
Meet at your hotel with your guide and your driver. Depart for a full day tour in the Beaujolais. During this escorted tour you will enjoy the richness of its terroir with many traditions and wines, its beautiful landscapes and fascinating geology with its «Golden stones». The tour takes you through several picturesque villages, including the medieval village of Oingt, listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".  Guided visit and wine tasting at Chateau de Corcelles. Historical visit to discover this ancient fortress, built during the 15th century. This visit is an exploration of the terroirs of the Beaujolais region, throughout the tasting of four appellations: Beaujolais, Beaujolais Villages, the Brouilly and Morgon. In the afternoon, visit of the village of Pérouges. Located at 36km from Lyon, discover during one hour this old village of weavers, which managed to keep its authenticity, its double ramparts, its old houses from the XVe-XVIe centuries, and a lot more. It is considered one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, located at the top of a hill overlooking the Rhône plain. 
Transfer back to Lyon for an estimate arrival at 6pm at the hotel.

DAY 6 : JUNE 21 : FOOD TOUR & COOKING CLASS 
Meet with you guide at In Cuisine workshop at Place Bellecour . Today you will discover the capital of gastronomy throughout its market and local craftsmen. You will start your day by a walk to a small food tour in a local market, during which the locals will show you their products and will tell you how to taste each one of them. Your chef will help you to choose the seasonal vegetables and fruits that you will use during your cooking class.  Then lunch and early afternoon at leisure. Later this afternoon you will go back to In Cuisine start your cooking class using the ingredients you've bought this morning at the local market. At the end of your class you will eat the fruit of your labor for Dinner.

DAY 7 : JUNE 22 : VALLEE DU RHONE & TRUFFLE FARM 
Breakfast at your hotel. 
Pick up at your hotel by your driver & your guide and depart for a wonderful journey in the Côte du Rhône world. The northern part of the Rhône Valley is famous for its exceptional wines. Several of them are classed among the finest in France. During this intimate tour you will have the opportunity to meet up and to share a few words about le terroir with an authentic winemaker. You will taste the best wine of the region and see beautiful vine landscapes!  
Your tour starts with a visit to a truffle farm where you will learn everything about the truffle. With passion, the rabassier -the person who finds the truffles- will explain the secrets of culture and the hazards of the harvest. You will watch a movie about the truffles and then you will be able to taste some products with truffle, such as a toast with truffled butter. 
Around 2.00 pm visit of the Maison Chapoutier, a winegrower in Tain-l'Hermitage and producer of the finest Rhône Valley appellations. Michel Chapoutier claims to be a chineur. He creates terroirs where no one would dare to, where no one would bet a cent. You will enjoy a 1 hour visit to discover the estate, and enjoy 3 different estate wine. 
Then continue your day with a transfer to visit and enjoy a wine tasting session in The Domaine Degache Frères. 
This family estate has existed for 3 generations now : grandfather, father and son. The Domaine Degache Frères is 4 hectares of vineyards with 4 ranges of wines: AOC Côte Rôtie, AOC condrieu, IGP Syrah and IGP Marsanne. During the tasting, you will appreciate the considerable aromatic richness of these great wines. 
Transfer back to Lyon estimated around 7.00 pm

DAY 8 : JUNE 23 : MARSEILLE & AIX EN PROVENCE 
Breakfast at your hotel and Check Out. 
Pick up at your hotel by a private coach and transfer to Lyon train station. Departure to Marseille by TGV train (times TBD). Arrival and welcome by your driver & your guide. You will enjoy a 3 hours  panoramic city tour of 2nd largest city in France Marseille, you will enjoy the charm and authenticity of this city. Marseille, with its 26 centuries of history, is a city full of art and culture. At around 4.30pm visit of the Château Virant. The Chateau Virant is a wine and olive estate located in the heart of the provencal countryside. Dominated by the rock that gives it its name, it stretches over 193 hectares of vineyards and 42 hectares of olive groves and benefits from the protected Aix en Provence appellation. You will visit the cellar, which dates back to 1632, the oil mill, the vine and olive museum with its sensorial path. At the end, you will taste 6 wines, 4 olive oils, and cooked wine jelly. Transfer to Aix en Provence around 6.40pm

DAY 9 : JUNE 24 : FULL DAY TOUR PROVENCE 
Breakfast at your hotel. 
Meet your driver and your guide in the hotel and get ready for your full day in Provence. This morning your driver will take you to the symbol of Provence: the purple lavender fields. Visit the distillery of Angelvin to learn about the culture and distillation of this famous flower. In the late morning, you will go for a scenic drive to the picturesque villages of the region. To start with the perched village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a typical village famous for its earthenware workshops; and Sainte Croix du Verdon, settled by the Sainte Croix lake. 
Transfer back to your hotel. 
Dinner at leisure & Overnight at your hotel.  
 
DAY 10 : JUNE 25 : HALF DAY TOUR AIX EN PROVENCE 
Breakfast at your hotel. 
Meet with your guide at your hotel and follow him for a 2 hour guided walking tour of its historic center and walk along the famous Cours Mirabeau which is lined with many trees, fine houses and fountains to walk around. Aix has sumptuous 17th and 18th century architecture, mansions, ornate fountains springing everywhere, lively streets and lovely squares. 
 Late afternoon, at 5.30pm, walk to the Culinary Workshop at Culinarion, which is 250m away from your hotel , with a great Chef who will give you the secrets of French food. This atelier is closer from your hotel and for 2 hours, you will cook a starter, main and dessert in a friendly and festive atmosphere, supervised by the Chef. At the end of the preparation, you will taste your cuisine with the Chef, in a “just like at home” vibe where everybody participates to the service, and in a good atmosphere. 
 
You can choose between two menus: 
- On the “Traditional Menu”: Gourmet hummus with stuffed peppers; 
anglerfish “à la provençale”, mediterranean vegetables and saffron; 
crumble pear/chocolate and seasonal clafoutis. 
 
- Or the “Just Like at Home Menu”: Tapenade (blended olives) and 
Anchoïade (blended anchovies); traditional Grand Aïoli (a traditional 
festive dish with garlic sauce); Clafoutis with seasonal fruits.

DAY 11 : JUNE 26 : DEPARTURE
