Saturday April 30th DEPART THE UNITED STATES Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Sunday May 1st DUBLIN ARRIVAL After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Your CIE Tours driver/guide will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Next, set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries with many architectural styles, reflecting the economic, political and artistic influences. Stop to visit Glasnevin Museum, Ireland’s national necropolis, for a guided tour of the final resting place of some of the most prominent people in Ireland’s history. After your visit, motor a short distance to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome drink followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant. Monday May 2nd FLORENCE COURT Leaving Dublin, travel to visit Florence Court, which is known as the home of the Irish Yew. The original tree, discovered in 1760, can still be viewed in the grounds. Tour the magnificent 18th century mansion, which is renowned for its elaborate rococo plasterwork. After your visit, drive to Blakes of the Hollow Pub, one of the most famous and well recognized Victorian pubs in Ireland. While here, enjoy a drink with your group. Then, continue your journey into Donegal, check into your hotel and spend some time at leisure before meeting your fellow travelers for dinner in the hotel restaurant. Tuesday May 3rd SLIEVE LEAGUE SEA CLIFFS After breakfast, visit the Slieve League Sea Cliffs, where the highest point reaches 1,972 feet making them the highest in Europe. The cliffs drop straight down to the wild Atlantic waves below and you will see marvelous vistas. While here, enjoy a cup of tea and freshly baked scones with your group. Next, enjoy scenic views as you travel through Glengesh Pass and into Ardara. Upon arrival, stop to visit Triona Designs to see demonstrations of spinning, weaving and knitting. Wednesday May 4th BELLEEK POTTERY Departing Donegal, journey into Belleek and stop to visit the Belleek Pottery Factory. While here, see how skilled craftspeople form and decorate clay to produce delicate porcelain masterpieces. Next, embark on a cruise on Lough Corrib, which is the largest lake in the Republic of Ireland. Measuring 68 square miles and with 365 islands, this lake is one of the cleanest in all of Europe. Lough Corrib contains many islands with historic ruins and a wealth of wildlife. After, continue your drive into the lively city of Galway, check into your hotel and settle into your room. Thursday May 5th KYLEMORE ABBEY This morning, travel to visit Kylemore Abbey for a tour of the elegant mansion and church, set beside a tranquil lake. Learn of the tales of tragedy, romance and royal visits. Also walk through the magical Victorian walled garden. Next, drive into Lettershea and stop to visit Dan O'Hara's Homestead, where you will see traditional methods of farming as well as Connemara ponies, donkeys and other farm animals. While here, enjoy a light lunch with your group. After, return to your hotel in Galway, where the rest of the day is free for individual pursuits and dining. OVERNIGHT: HARDIMAN HOTEL, GALWAY
Friday May 6th CLIFFS OF MOHER After breakfast, drive along the coast of scenic County Clare and stop to visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most beloved, natural landmarks. See magical vistas, overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Ireland’s Western coastline. Next, journey into Liscannor and stop to visit St. Brigid's Well, located within a stone well house where pilgrims leave offerings and perform other ritualized activities. After your visit, take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary. Continue your travel through Ireland’s countryside into the town of Killarney, check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own. After an independent dinner, head to Gaelic Roots to see a superb show, which feature some of our Ireland’s most beloved songs, harp music and folk dancing. Saturday May 7th DINGLE PENINSULA Today, discover the beauties of the Dingle Peninsula, once described by the National Geographic Traveler as “the most beautiful place on earth.” Drive along the south shore of the peninsula for plenty of vistas of heathery mountains, sandy stretches of beach, stunning green landscapes and rocky headlands. Pause at strategic locations to admire the views and take photos. Next, stop to enjoy lunch with your group at John Benny’s Pub before returning to your hotel in Killarney. Spend some time at leisure before a festive evening with your group. Tonight, head to the Celtic Whiskey Bar to enjoy a wonderful dinner with your group followed by whiskey and chocolate pairing. Sunday May 8th DUBLIN SIGHTSEEING Leaving Killarney, travel through Ireland’s rolling hills into the bustling city of Dublin. Upon arrival, stop to visit Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, an 8th century illuminated manuscript of the gospels and see the Old Library. After, motor a short distance to your hotel, check in and spend the balance of the day at leisure for independent sightseeing, shopping, dining, pubs and much more. Monday May 9th RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES All too soon, your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States.
