Every  year, Future Neenah sponsors the Ultimate Ladies Day.  This is a fun filled day full of food, pampering, shopping and learning.  It's a great opportunity for the businesses downtown Neenah  to interact with customers.

This year's Ultimate Ladies Day is September 8 and Bon Voyage will again be participating.  We will hold a couple of sessions about preserving your vacation memories led by Angela Schiller.  Angela has a beautiful way of putting together her trip memories that is unique and creative.  Angela was a traveler on our recent New Zealand trip and we can't wait to see the output!

Additionally, we will be offering a glass of French wine to all of  the Ladies Day participants.  What better way to kick off our Women's trip to Nice, France on the French Riviera!  I've also attached more information about this fabulous trip in this newsletter.

destination of the week
nice, france

With its mix of real city life, old world opulence, year round sunshine, vibrant street life and stunning seaside location, no place in France compares with Nice.

Getting lost among the dark, narrow, winding alleyways of Nice’s old town is a highlight. The layout has barely changed since the 1700s, and it’s now packed with delis, restaurants, boutiques and bars, but the centerpiece remains Cours Saleya: a massive market square that’s permanently thronging in summer. The food market is perfect for fresh produce and foodie souvenirs, while the flower market is worth visiting just for the colors and fragrances. A flea market is held on Monday.
Baroque aficionados will adore architectural gems Cathédrale Ste-Réparate, honoring the city’s patron saint; exuberant 16th-century Chapelle de la Miséricorde; and 17th-century Palais Lascaris, a frescoed riot of Flemish tapestries, faience (tin-glazed earthenware),  religious paintings and 18th-century pharmacy.  There’s also a lively – and very smelly – fish market on place St-François.

The most famous stretch of seafront in Nice – if not France – is the vast paved promenade, which gets its name from the English expat patrons who paid for it in 1822. It runs for the whole 4km sweep of the Baie des Anges with a dedicated lane for cyclists and skaters; if you'd like to join  them, you can rent skates, scooters and bikes from Roller Station.
A more unusual way to cruise along is an electric Segway from Mobilboard Nice; the same agency also rents out bikes.
Along the way, keep an eye out for a few of the promenade's landmarks, including the Hôtel Negresco, the art-deco Palais de la Méditerranée (1929) and Niçoise sculptor Sabine Géraudie’s giant iron sculpture La Chaise de SAB (2014), which pays homage to the city’s famous blue-and-white beach chairs.

travel tip of the week
water shoes necessary

The beaches in Nice are simply beautiful.  The water color is difficult to describe adequately and is a once in a lifetime experience.  It is important to note, however, that the beaches are not sand and are made up of small pebbles.  Water shoes for swimming are essential!
